Salary Range: $58,000-74,000, Depending on Experience and Adjusted for Location

Green For All fights for a world that is green for all, not green for some. We work at the intersection of environmental, economic, and racial justice movements to advance solutions to poverty and pollution.

Purpose

Green For All is looking for a National Organizer to develop a distributed network of volunteers and manage a national network of local and state partners across the country, to advance a bold national strategy for building an inclusive green economy. Now in the midst of global pandemic our work is more critical than ever. The National Organizer will support building capacity and executing tactics  for campaigns including but not limited to: clean transportation for all, green economic recovery for all, and energy efficiency for all.

The National Organizer will keep a pulse on local efforts, coordinate support to partners on ground, recruit and train leaders, and lead national engagement strategies that shape the national dialogue to build broad support for equitable solutions. The position is managed by the Engagement Manager and works closely with state and federal campaign managers on strategy.

Responsibilities
Distributed Volunteer Network Development

  • With the support of the Engagement Manager, develop and maintain a distributed volunteer network of volunteers using traditional and innovative organizing tactics.
  • Develops and leads national organizing and mobilization strategies that elevate issues in the national narrative and build broad public support (i.e coordinating a National Day of Action with events across multiple states, and representing Green For All in coalitional efforts and large mobilizations)
  • Builds grassroots support and organizing power to advance priority campaigns in target states.
  • Develops policy and advocacy curriculum, tools and resources needed to train and support Green For All volunteers.

Partnerships & Community Relations

  • Develops and manages relationships with community partners in states.
  • Identifies and executes on opportunities to elevate, amplify, and advance strategically-aligned local efforts by lending support.
  • Works with partners to identify and uplift local stories in media and communications, to shape the public dialogue.
  • Works with partners to identify and uplift policy examples and case studies of inclusive green economy solutions that work.

Issue Education & Communications

  • Develops materials and provides issue education (i.e. teach-ins, workshops, webinars) to cultivate local leaders and volunteers to be effective advocates.
  • Represents Green For All as a public speaker at events, stakeholder convenings, public hearings, etc.
  • Work with the communication and engagement teams on digital strategy, local press outreach and developing messaging.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience leading state or national, issue-based campaigns with a strong preference for racial and economic justice, climate, transportation, or clean energy issues.
  • Experience with leading distributed organizing campaigns or issue-based campaigns in multiple locations with diverse political dynamics.
  • Proven ability to train and build leadership among volunteers to effectively grow campaign capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain networks/coalitions in support of issue-based campaigns and strength in relationship management, including conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of energy and climate policy or labor/jobs and workforce  issues with a commitment and ability to analyze and advocate for policy using a racial and economic justice lens.
  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate complex information for diverse and mass audiences (e.g., volunteers, partners, funders, media)
  • Track record of successfully moving a project from goals to effective execution
  • Ability to work independently, while simultaneously acting as a leader and participant in complex collaborative processes
  • Flexible work style and interest in being part of a dynamic, evolving team and organization.
  • Program evaluation and qualitative and quantitative data tracking.
  • Dynamic, proactive leader, self-driven, highly reliable and ability to work productively independently and remotely.
  • Dynamic public speaking and facilitation skills.
  • Experience using digital tools such as: ActionKit and ThruText (formerly Relay) for volunteer recruitment and management a plus.
  • Prior experience as a media spokesperson a plus.
  • Digital storytelling experience is a plus.
